Considering the provisions of the Regulations of the CAPES Postgraduate Promotion Program -PROEX, Ordinance n.227, of November 27, 2017, (which establishes the teaching internship for students receiving scholarships from this promotion body) and UFMG General Postgraduate Rules / n.02/2017, the Board of the Postgraduate Program in Education: Knowledge and Social Inclusion establishes the following resolution for the teaching internship of its students:
Art. 1 – The teaching internship may be carried out by regularly enrolled students who will be responsible for undergraduate teaching activities under the supervision of a teacher.
Art. 2 – The internship is compulsory for doctoral students on CAPES, CNPq and FAPEMIG scholarships, and optional for those on scholarships who have proven experience in higher and secondary education, for non-scholarship students and Master’s students.
Art. 3 – The teaching internship will be developed in teaching activities whose program content has an affinity with the postgraduate student’s research area. Doctoral students may take on up to 50% of the workload of a class and master’s students up to 25% of the workload of a class. Internship activities may include preparing teaching material, correcting exercises, supervising monographs and coordinating study groups, among others.
Art. 4 – Internship activities will be supervised by a professor from the Program, preferably the professor supervising the intern’s dissertation/thesis work.
Art. 5 – The plan of activities for the teaching internship, drawn up by the student and their supervisor, must be approved by the Graduate School Board and by the Board of the department to which the teaching activity and/or the supervising professor is linked.
Art. 6 – The final internship report, approved by the supervising professor, must be submitted to the Graduate School Board for analysis and approval.
Art. 7 – After approval of the final internship report by the Program Board, the secretariat will issue the student with a certificate of participation in the teaching internship activities.
