The Graduate Program in Education: Knowledge and Social Inclusion at the Faculty of Education of UFMG (PPGE/FaE/UFMG) is recognized by CAPES as a program of excellence (PROEX, grade 7).

It currently offers the following courses: Academic Master’s, lasting up to 30 months, Doctorate and Latin American Doctorate, lasting up to 48 months. In addition to these courses, the PPGE welcomes Post-Doctoral Residents.

The Master’s and Doctorate courses are offered on a face-to-face basis, training researchers in education, teachers for higher education and other professionals for different social and educational organizations. The Post-Doctoral Residency consists of the development of research activities by a doctoral degree holder at a Post-Graduate Course
at UFMG. Its teaching and research activities are guided by a commitment to the right to education and the production of knowledge about educational phenomena that helps to reduce inequalities.

The PPGE/FaE/UFMG has agreements with institutions and researchers from different countries in Latin America, Africa, Europe and North America.

Of particular note is the Latin American Doctorate: Public Policies and the Teaching Profession (DLA), the result of an International Cooperation Agreement between UNESCO, RED KIPUS and 11 Latin American Universities. Other international cooperation activities: the Inter-institutional Doctorate (DINTER) which was developed with the 11 de Novembro University in Cabinda/Angola; the Pro-International Mobility Program between Universities in Portuguese-speaking countries (CAPES/AULP); and the development of projects with the universities of Lisbon, Minho, Coimbra, Leeds, Geneva, Ca’Foscari, Provence, Paris III and Aix Marseille, North Carolina, Winston-Salem and Akron, among others.
