The PPGE/FaE/UFMG, in addition to the Academic Master’s and Regular Doctorate courses, develops the Latin American Doctorate in Education: Public Policies and the Teaching Profession (DLA), which is the result of an International Cooperation Agreement between UNESCO, RED KIPUS and 11 Latin American Universities, and the PPGE/FaE/UFMG was a pioneer in the implementation of this doctorate, starting its activities in 2010.
In addition, an International Cooperation Agreement has been signed between the 11 de Novembro University (Cabinda, Angola) and the Federal University of Minas Gerais, to promote broad student exchanges at postgraduate level and exchanges of teachers and researchers. In more specific terms, the project’s main aim is to improve the qualifications of the teaching staff at the 11 de Novembro University, increasing their qualifications and developing research, with a view to creating a Master’s Degree in Education at the Higher Institute of Educational Sciences (ISCED) in the future. During the four-year period, 21 masters and 8 doctors were trained through this agreement.
Other joint research actions between researchers from the PPGE/FaE/UFMG and the Higher Institute of Educational Sciences (ISCED) of the 11th of November University (UON), such as the International Pro-Mobility Program between Portuguese-speaking Universities (CAPES/AULP) continue to be developed until 2017, strengthening the link between the two universities and the integration between undergraduate and postgraduate studies. In addition to this training program, the CAPES/AULP International Pro-Mobility Program also involves work between the University of Cape Verde and the Federal University of Minas Gerais.
