International Agreements and Affiliations

In addition to the Academic Master’s Degree and Doctorate (Regular), PPGE/FaE/UFMG administers the Latin-American Doctorate in Education: Public Policies and Educational Profession (DLA), which is a joint effort under the International Cooperation Agreement between UNESCO, Rede KIPUS (KIPUS Network) and 11 Latin American Universities, of which PPGE/FaE/UFMG was the pioneering member in the implantation of this Doctorate, whose activities began in 2010.

Additionally, an International Cooperation Agreement was established between the Universidade 11 de Novembro (UON) [November 11 University] of Baginda, Angloa, and the Federal University of Minas Gerais, to promote broad-range student exchange at the graduate level and professor and researcher exchanges. More specifically, the project aims, as a priority, to qualify the effective teaching staff at November 11 University, emphasizing the expansion of academic titles and degree programs and the development of research, with the aim of creating a Master of Education program at the Higher Institute of Science and Education (ISCED) in the future. 21 Master’s and 08 Doctoral degrees were awarded at the quadrennium as a result of this framework.

Other joint research projects and actions undertaken by PPGE/FaE/UFMG and the Higher Institute of Science and Education (ISCED) at the November 11 University (UON) including the Programa de Pró-Mobilidade Internacional (International Pro-Mobility Program) between the Universidades de Língua Portuguesa (CAPES/AULP) [Portuguese Language Universities] are under development (through 2018) strengthening the relationship between the two universities and the integration between undergraduate and graduate programs. Work being undertaken at the Cabo Verde University together with the Federal University of Minas Gerais has been added to this educational endeavor and the same International Pro-Mobility CAPES/AULP Program.
